Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kita-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Fukushima) will release a new color range for the ZOOM L2 oil-based ballpoint pen and mechanical pencil line of contemporary design pens from Japan that combine Japanese technology and sensibility from February 10th. (both priced at 3,520 JPY (3,200 JPY excluding tax)

The five new colors are navy, brown, charcoal, silver, and gray and are based on suit colors. The five new colors have been overlaid with a matte finish to enhance brightness and a sense of luxury.
(The 2023 release had six colors: matte silver, matte white, matte blue, matte gray, matte lavender, and matte full black. This release brings the total to 11 colors.)

ZOOM L2 Body Design(Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil / Body Shape)
The overall length is approximately 140 mm*. This compact knock-type pen is easy to carry in a suit pocket, diary, or notebook and allows for quick writing.
The seamless barrel is 108 mm long (excluding the tip, knock pin, and cap). The barrel diameter changes from 7.7 mm to 10.0 mm then back to 7.7 mm to create a streamlined shape. The center of the barrel is chamfered from three sides to create a triangular shape and the triangular ridges blend into the round barrel at both ends. The rounded barrel combines the stability of a triangular barrel with a sense of openness while creating an elegant shape.

ZOOM L2 Body Touch (Shared Feature/Finish)
The body surface is finished with Neolabasan™, a soft-feel paint that gives the pen a moist feel like carefully tanned leather. In addition to its appealing physical qualities, such as ease of holding and writing, it also offers an emotional effect that makes you want to keep holding it. With a versatile barrel shape and a comfortable feel, this is a practical design pen that makes taking notes and writing fun.

ZOOM L2 Knock (Shared Feature)
The knock rod (approximately 10mm long) features a unique inverted cone shape. With a 4.5mm tip diameter and a 2.7mm base, a unique inverted cone-like toggle switch design. The delicate curve is a charming feature of the design, inviting you to push to knock. It also looks stylish when placed in a suit pocket.
The inverted cone also functions as a knob for easy removal from a pocket. The designer’s playful spirit and meticulous construction have resulted in a unique yet functional shape.

Dedicated ballpoint pen refill with consistent line width.
This ultra-low-viscosity ink refill was specially tuned for the ZOOM L2, ensuring consistent ink flow consistent line width regardless of writing angle, making it ideal for a wide range of uses, from writing notebooks to letters. The newly designed tip ensures consistent line width, smooth writing, and precision. Even when writing in small increments, the ink is less likely to bleed or smudge.
