Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Fukushima) will add new types of training pencils and colored pencils to its “ippo!” series of stationery for school children to support their first steps toward learning for the 2026 school year bringing. Shipments began on October 24. These new 2026 back-to-school stationery items will be available nationwide at stationery stores, stationery sections, and other retailers.

The following four new products will be added in time for next spring.

“Kakikata Pencil” new plain pattern
Plain patterns offer a simple solid-color design that parents can choose with confidence, combining the reliability of school supplies that blend seamlessly into learning with the cute and cool appeal perfect for elementary school students. Three colors are available: Pattern A (navy-based), Pattern B (purple-based), and Pattern C (light blue-based). Three trendy colors that cater to every taste. Hexagonal/triangular shaft is easy to hold and won’t roll around on the desk. Hardness Choice of thickness and softness from B to 6B. Comes with a new “Pencil Change Mark” to indicate when it is time to change pencils. Name space included. —More appealing as school stationery

New feature “Pencil Change Mark”
Pencils come with a stamped “Pencil Change Mark” to indicate when it is time to replace pencils that have become too short. This mark indicates the optimal time to replace pencils for effective learning.

1. Soft, lightweight case, flexible, quiet
We have made a full transition to a soft case from the old sliding tin case). The case opens like a book when placed on a desk. The lid folds back and tucks under the case, saving space and freeing up your study desk. The soft case weights approximately 63 g, approximately 40%, lighter than our conventional tin case. The soft case comes in 4 colors so you can pick your preferred color. Color A (navy), Color B (purple), Color C (light blue), Color D (white).
