Tombo Pencil Co., Ltd (Head Office: Kita-ku, Tokyo; President: Junichi Fukushima) will release its “12-Color Ki-Monogatari Colored Pencils” (product name/price: 1,012 yen (920 yen before tax)), featuring a new pigmented core that enables rich, smooth lines with a single stroke from October 23, 2025. This product replaces the currently available “Colored Pencil in a Tin Case S Ki-Monogatari”. The price remains unchanged.
The features of “12-Color Ki-Monogatari Colored Pencils” are: 1) Richer color with a single stroke, 2) light and smooth to the touch, 3) hexagonal shaft colored pencils (made using forest certified materials), 4) light craft paper case, etc., making drawing with colored pencils more fun. The pencils are also suitable for those who are new to colored pencil drawing and children and the elderly who have inconsistent pressure.

The wooden shafts are made using PEFC-certified timber sourced with consideration for forest conservation into consideration (PEFC/31-31-167). The finish preserves the wood’s natural texture, allowing the grain to show through. Color names and markings are applied with a branded stamp effect.

The case is made from craft paper. Weighing only about 100 g, it is more than 30% lighter than the conventional tin case product (in terms of total weight).
