Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo, President: Akihiro Ogawa) will hold the “ABT Illustration Contest 2022”. Anyone can enter regardless of whether they are professionals or amateurs. Entry period is from August 9, 2022 to October 9, 2022. Mr. Mel Kishida was invited as a judge.
Comic illustrations, landscape illustrations, portrait illustrations, illustrations drawn mainly using the dual brush pen “ABT”, all genres of illustrations can be submitted. Entries to be made via Twitter.

Purpose of “ABT Illustration Contest 2022”
The purpose of this award is to honor works recognized for their excellent ideas and techniques, to pursue the infinite expressive possibilities such as the dual brush pen “ABT”, and to contribute to the promotion of hand-drawn art.

■Grand Prize (1 winner) 50,000 yen plus supplementary prize
■Judge’s Prize (2 winners) 30,000 yen plus supplementary prize
■Tombow Pencil Prize (2 winners) 30,000 yen plus supplementary prize
■Runner-up Prizes (5 winners) 10,000 yen plus supplementary prize

Judges
Mel Kishida

Illustrator, character designer. Born 1983. While working on character designs for numerous games and anime, he is a popular illustrator with a variety of activities that go beyond the framework of an illustrator, such as appearing in various media. He is also the original drafter and general supervisor of the “BLUE REFLECTION” project, which spans consumer, mobile and TV animation.
